Custom — Country Log Cabins White Haven

Hand Hewed Logs

Delivered — February 17, 2006

Up 9 Courses now.  You can see the notches for the 2nd floor beams.  These beams will be 6x8 White Pine on 32 inch centers.  The home is taking shape!!

Close up view where you can see some details.  Notice the hewed logs.  You can also clearly see an electrical box near the kitchen window.

Another close up shot of where the partition walls will join the log walls.  Notice a couple of things here.  First we cut slots in the log wall next to where the stud walls join.  This is so we can insert the tongue and groove paneling into these slots for a very neat job, with no trim needed.   Also, you can see the partition wall is lag bolted solid into the log wall.  We can do this because our logs are kiln dried to an average of 15% or less, so we don’t have to worry about shrinkage or settling.  This makes your home much easier to build.

Close up of a window opening.  You can see the numbering system of the logs here.  Notice 3E, 4E, 5E, and 6E.  This is log course 3,4,5 and 6 and log position E in the wall.  With our pre-cut packages, all the windows and doors are cut for you.  You get a print showing the position of the log in the wall.  This makes construction fast and easy.  We even pre-drill the lag bolt holes!!!  Notice the nice, tight corner.

View of the rear of the home showing the beautiful setting.  This is looking toward the river and the bluff.

Side view.  Notice the log extends out to tie into the porch posts and stringers.
